Incorporating Levantine Cuisine Into Home Cooking
While our restaurant may be temporarily closed in compliance with the State of Pennsylvania’s pandemic response, that does not mean you can’t enjoy excellent Levantine cuisine from the comfort of your home! The team at Fabrika encourages you during this time to stay home and stay safe. Meanwhile, we’d like to offer suggestions for easy Levantine cooking with ingredients delivered from your local grocery store.
The beef sirloin kebabs on our dinner menu are one of our favorite dishes to make, and they are easy to recreate in your home kitchen. All you need are a few simple ingredients — and a working grill — to prepare this dish, and from there, the process is easy! Check out these steps to feel like you are enjoying our five-star dining experience in your own home.
Getting Your Ingredients
Beef sirloin tips are typically inexpensive when purchasing from a grocery store, and they are easy to prepare as well. To make the perfect kebab, you will also need a few vegetables of your choice. We prepare our kebabs with grilled potatoes, so be sure to add that to your list as well. Finally, you will want to choose a rub or marinade of your choice. We marinate our kebabs with chermoula — which is primarily cumin-based — but feel free to get creative. And don’t forget the skewers; they are the most important part!
Preparing Your Kebabs
Once you have all your ingredients, it’s time to start cooking. Start by applying a rub of your choice to the sirloin tips. Then add your beef to your marinade, as well as any other vegetables you would like to include on your skewer. For best results, you should marinate them overnight, but this is not mandatory.
After the marination is complete, put everything on the skewers and start grilling. As to not overcook the meat, our recommended grill time is around 8 minutes, flipping them halfway through. Once they are done, let them cool off for a bit and enjoy!
If you want to enjoy the authentic recipe as created by Fabrika’s five-star kitchen, don’t fret! We will be opening our doors to the public once again in due time. Until then, we hope that our suggestions help you come up with an idea for a new meal while you are staying home. Be sure to check our website and social media channels to find out when we will be returning!
